Tin Can Trust
This goal of this project was to exchange of messages of love and solidarity in the creation of personal artifacts between people in the Puerto Rican diaspora in Allentown, Pennsylvania and San Juan, Puerto Rico. We started in Allentown PA where people created designs and silkscreened T-shirts, one to keep and one to exchange. The T-shirts were packed into tin cans and taken to Puerto Rico where they were exchanged. Participants in Puerto Rico created handmade alcoholado infused with local herbs which is a tincture used for its healing properties. The project culminated in an exhibition at the Allentown Art Museum consisting of a series of photos to document the exchange.
